Potential Candidate for the Creative Armada

The CarveWright Model-C is a neat little CNC router-carver-toy-thing that I want to add to the Creative Armada.

It's such a great little toy (though it does take a bit away from hand craftsmanship, which I generally hate) that carves out 3D designs from wood using milling techniques and it totally automatic.

I first saw this on StilitBeasts Studio's today where he deomnstrated it's functions and basic operation. He intends on making vampire hunter boxes/kits (which strangely enough when I first saw the finished product was my first inclination to use it for).

Well, my duct tape one finally bit the big one. I had it precariously balanced on a pole and had little to NO re-enforcement, and I put too many heavy clothes on it, so it collapsed in on itself.

Granted, at this point, due to being stored close to the window and all the temperature/humidity variations it was exposed to, it had pretty much become a nightmare looking thing. Almost entirely my bad. Alright! all my bad.

So, after watching an old tutorial on Threadbanger, I decided to just break down and build a new one.

It's a lot stronger, more accurate and was half the mess of the last one, not to mention $5 to make for the supplies. I ended up having to hunt for the supplies all over the city, and ended up finding them in the one store I knew I should have started in. So much for second guessing myself.

This was taken with my new camera by the way, which I'm still learning the ins and outs of it.

Overall, I'm VERY impressed with it and look forward to costume design/t-shirt airbrushing on it. I even debated covering it with a sheet of plastic and using it as another form that I can use specifically for t-shirts....more to come on that.

So here's the new baby to the armada......just wait and see It's a Paasche VL3, sold as a kit and bought from a woodworker in Antigonish County. Originally sells for about $200-$250 Canadian, I got the whole deal for $64, postage in. Haven't sparked her up yet, but it's just a matter of a day......muhahahaha

So,my boyfriend picked a Wacom tablet for after my many months of begging and trying to negotiate pay to get this thing. I wrote most of this blog freehand with an app that translates your script into fonts.....just too much for me at once to handle really...back to playing..
